So I don't think that arguement makes sense. Limiting users to a more limited selection of graphic cards is why people flash cards.īundling drivers wtih the OS and not making it easy or possible to use off the shelf parts and use a newer modern GPU wtih any Mac, with any OS version might seem wise to control and reduce problems and insure drivers, but Mac drivers and support have never equaled their PC or Windows breathern. All of my PCs now have UEFI motherboards, UEFI firmware and access to and replaced the old BIOS with a new graphical UEFI configuration screen. ![]() I do not see what having EFI only graphics has ever done or brought to the table to improve or make it important, it could be and you can have EFI do things. There are other forums that support how to, which card to look for etc. In most cases you use a program to save the old ROM first in case you need or want to go back to how it was. You probably had to update firmware already at some point for your motherboard on your Macs. It means replacing or adding to the ROM (read only memory) on a board.
